Dr. Edward de bono

Dr. Edward de Bono, creator of Six Thinking Hats, Lateral Thinking, Management Thinking (DATT) and Simplicity, is regarded as the leading international authority on creative thinking and the direct teaching of thinking skills.  Born in Malta, Dr. de Bono was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford, Cambridge, London, and Harvard.  He is an M.D. with a Ph.D. in psychology and physiology.

Edward de Bono's medical background in biological information systems inspired and enabled him not only to teach thinking but also to design thinking methods.  Although Dr. de Bono's methods are based on a fundamental understanding of how the brain handles information, they are designed to be very simple and practical and are being used by corporate executives, Nobel Prize laureates, and four-year olds alike.

In 1991, Edward de Bono arranged for the incorporation of de Bono Thinking Systems (previously APTT) to publish his training materials and to certify instructors to teach his thinking methods.  de Bono Thinking Systems now supports 29 distributors and over 900 certified instructors in over 35 countries.
